TULIPS Progress Event: Accelerating Airports in the Clean Energy Transition
On October 10th, we had the pleasure of joining our partners, Torino Airport and Politecnico di Torino, at the historic Castello del Valentino for the TULIPS Progress Event. The event focused on the Clean Energy Transition, a crucial shift that airports are actively navigating. TULIPS is pioneering a range of innovations designed to expedite this transition. During the event, we provided updates on our progress and shared valuable lessons learned. You can watch the videos of the presentations on this page.
Decarbonising Airport Operations
Airports across Europe are dedicated to decarbonising their operations in line with the ambitious goals of the EU Green Deal. By significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions, we aim to contribute to a more sustainable future beyond 2030. The clean energy transition is central to this mission. Although airport operations are currently efficient and well-established, they still depend on CO2-emitting energy sources like fossil fuels and grid-based electricity. Achieving Net Zero requires airports to make strategic adjustments to their infrastructure and energy practices.
