Join us in Rotterdam for the last Hydrogen GPU demonstration
Following earlier trials at Schiphol, the H2-GPU will make its final demonstration at Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTHA). This will enable us to gain experience at different types of airports and develop robust recommendations for other European airports. The demonstration is scheduled for 15 July, and a limited number of places are still available.

From Ambition to Action: Circular Construction in Airports
A new publication from the TULIPS programme demonstrates how circular construction can move from ambition to everyday practice within airport environments. Drawing on evidence from more than 350 sources and validated by industry practitioners, the framework bridges the gap between theory and implementation—providing practical guidance for embedding circularity across airport infrastructure projects.

Growing willingness among travellers presents opportunities for SAF
The aviation sector faces a major sustainability challenge. One of the most important solutions for the coming years is Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) – a more sustainable alternative to conventional fossil kerosene. SAF is produced from renewable and circular feedstocks and can significantly reduce CO₂ emissions from flying. But how do travellers view this more sustainable fuel? We asked them at Schiphol and Oslo Airport for their opinion.

Testing a modular charging system for the future of electric aviation
To be future proof, airports must prepare to charge diverse electric aircraft with varying voltage needs. This calls for smart, flexible solutions that avoid costly infrastructure upgrades. Within the TULIPS project, Work Package 2 therefore developed and tested a modular, voltage‑agnostic charging system designed for this future. Its configurable modules can be arranged in series or parallel to deliver the required voltage or capacity, enabling airports to support multiple aircraft types efficiently. This approach offers a practical pathway to lowering emissions while keeping operations resilient and affordable.

ACI EUROPE Breakfast Session in Prague sparks debate on the future role of airports
At the ACI EUROPE Annual Congress in Prague, the three EU Green Deal airport projects — TULIPS, OLGA and STARGATE — brought together more than 40 aviation leaders to discuss the future role of airports in the sustainability transition. Through five bold statements and an interactive debate, the session generated valuable insights into the sector’s ambitions, challenges and priorities for delivering on Europe’s climate goals.

EU Atlas on circularity in airports
This TULIPS publication brings together the state of the art on circularity in aviation, ten practical airport use cases, and key lessons for scaling circular economy action across Europe. The EU Atlas on Circularity in Aviation offers airports, policy makers, and sector stakeholders a practical resource on how circular economy principles ar being applied in real airport environments. With contributions from the airports of Oslo, Brussels, Venice Marco Polo, Hamburg, Rome Fiumicino, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Heathrow, RTHA and Schiphol.
